I am a poet, artist, and editor whose current writing examines the ways violence is sanctioned in American society, and how that can be countered with care and safety. My first poetry collection, Action in the Orchards, explores intimacy and loss via encounters with contemporary art.

My ongoing collaborative art practice with Susy Bielak mines archives, texts, and social histories to synthesize the poetic, social, and political terrain of cities. For more than ten years, this deep, holistic collaboration has drawn upon our shared concerns and skills, integrating intensive research and material experimentation to create writing, installations, performances, and public works that reflect the gravity and strangeness of contemporary cities.
